PhD Candidate Liangchun Xu was awarded the best paper of Session E6 of 2015 ION GNSS+

Liangchun Xu, the PhD candidate of GNSS Research Center of Wuhan University, was awarded the best paper of the Session E6 ‘Advances in Software Receivers’ of ION GNSS+2015, which took place at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida from September 14 through 18, 2015.

Liangchun Xu made an oral presentation about his paper ‘NAVSDR: A GPU-based Modular GPS Software Receiver’ on Session E6 in the afternoon of September 18. This paper introduces the latest research advances of software receiver platform in GNSS Research Center, and draw the great interests of other participants. The developed software receiver platform fully use the parallel programming potential of GPU and could process the GNSS base band signals in up to 330 channels in real-time. Compared with traditional platform based on CPU, the process ability has been improved significantly. This paper provides the essential way for the development of real-time software receiver. Hence, it was selected as the best paper in session E6.

ION GNSS+ is the world's largest technical meeting and showcase of GNSS technology, products and services. It brings together international leaders in GNSS and related positioning, navigation and timing fields to present new research, introduce new technologies, discuss current policy, demonstrate products and exchange ideas.
